General Motors GM Recall Issued For 2009 & 2010 Chevrolet Impala Sedans Over Seat Belts

General Motors GMs Recalls More Than 300,000 Model Year 2009 & 2010 Chevrolet Impala Sedans Over Seat Belts.

A recall has been issued by General Motors GM (“General Motors” or “GM”) recalling more than 300,000 Chevrolet Impala sedans model years 2009 and 2010 for allegedly failing to comply with requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standards relating to Chevrolet Impala seat belt assembly anchorages, where the front safety belt webbing reportedly may not be properly secured to the lap belt pretensioner mounted to the side of the seat belt door, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) motor vehicle recall news report.

The seat belt in the recalled Chevrolet Impala sedans reportedly may not restrain the occupant as intended during a crash of the Chevrolet Impala and could result in injury to a Chevrolet Impala occupant.

Under the General Motors GM 2009 & 2010 Chevrolet Impala seat belt recall, automobile dealers will reportedly inspect both front seat belts to make sure the anchors are installed properly to the the pretensioners, and will reinstall them if necessary, reportedly free of charge.
