Meyer Corporation Recalls 59,000 Rachael Ray™ Brand Two Quart Teakettle Over Potential Spraying & Spilling Of Water When Being Poured & Risk Of Burning Hazard.
A teakettle recall has been issued by Meyer Corporation (“Meyer Corporation” or “Meyer”) recalling 59,000 Rachael Ray™ Brand Two Quart Teakettles (with stainless steel lid with a black handle) sold at a variety of department, housewares and gourmet kitchen stores and at discount and online retailers from December 2008 through October 2010 for between $18 and $40, reportedly because water heated in the recalled Rachael Ray Brand Two Quart Teakettles can spill and spray while being poured, posing a burn hazard, according to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) teakettle recall news report.
Consumers are reportedly being asked to stop using the recalled Rachael Ray Brand Two Quart Teakettles and to contact Meyer Corporation for a replacement teakettle. Meyer reportedly received eight complaints of spilling hot water, four of which reportedly included burn injuries.
