Sterno Portable Butane Stove Recall Issued By Sterno Over Fire & Burn Hazard

The Sterno Group Recalls 37,500 Sterno Portable Butane Stoves Due To Fire & Burn Hazard.

A butane stove recall has been issued by The Sterno Group LLC (“Sterno”) recalling 37,500 Sterno Portable Butane Stoves (single burner black stoves model numbers STO6001 and 50006 and UPC 0-27371-50006-9 or UPC 0-76642-06001-6) sold at sporting goods stores and other retail stores nationwide, including Puerto Rico, from September 2009 through September 2010, and to restaurants and restaurant supply stores from August 2006 through September 2010 for between $20 and $30, reportedly because the recalled Sterno Portable Butane Stove’s “on-off” valve can fail to close completely when turned to the “off” position, causing butane to leak from the stove which poses a fire and burn hazard to consumers, according to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) butane stove recall news report.

Consumers are reportedly being asked to stop using the recalled  Sterno Portable Butane Stoves and to contact Sterno for instructions about how to return the recalled stoves for a free replacement stove.
