Toyota Motor Corporation Recalls More Than 728,000 Model Year 2005-2006 Toyota Avalons, 2004-2006 Toyota Highlanders, 2004-2006 Lexus RXs, 2006 Lexus GSs & ISs Over Brake Fluid Leaks.
A recall has been issued by Toyota Motor Corporation (“Toyota”) recalling 728,544 model year 2005-2006 Toyota Avalons, 2004-2006 Toyota Highlanders, 2004-2006 Lexus RXs, 2006 Lexus GSs & ISs because a part of the rubber seal located at the rear of the brake master cylinder may become dry and curl during the movement of the piston if replacement brake fluid is used in the vehicles that does not contain sufficient polymers, potentially causing a slow leak from the seal into the brake booster, degrading braking performance and increasing risk of crash, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) automobile, car and motor vehicle recall news report.
Under the Toyota Avalon, Toyota Highlander, Lexus RX, Lexus GS & IS safety recall, dealers will reportedly replace the rubber seal with a newly designed one, free of charge.
