Kia Motors Recalls 7,697 2011 Kia Sorento Vehicles Due To Rear Brake Calipers That May Not Have Been Properly Machined & Could Lead To Risk Of Crash.
A motor vehicle recall has been issued by Kia Motors Corporation (“Kia Motors” or “Kia”) recalling 7,697 model year 2011 Kia Sorento vehicles manufactured from September 14, 2010, through October 4, 2010 reportedly because some of the rear brake calipers may not have been properly machined, and as a result, brake fluid may leak, followed by illumination of the malfunction indicator light indicating the brake fluid level is low and should be checked, then a soft or spongy brake pedal feel, and if not serviced, reduced braking power which could increase the risk of a crash, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety (“NHTSA”) automobile, car and motor vehicle recall news report.
The 2011 Kia Sorento brake caliper recall reportedly provides that dealers will inspect the recalled Kia Sorento brake calipers and replace the recalled brake calipers if necessary, free of charge.
