Bosch Hammer Drill Recall Issued By Robert Bosch Tool Corporation Over Potential Electric Shock Hazard

Robert Bosch Tool Corporation Recalls 20,000 Bosch Hammer Drill Over Potential Risk of Electrical Shock.

A tool and equipment recall has been issued by Robert Bosch Tool Corporation (“Robert Bosch Tool” or “Robert Bosch” or “Bosch”) recalling 20,000 Bosch hammer drills (the Bosch 1/2 inch 2-Speed Hammer Drill with model number HD19-2, HD19-2D, HD19-2L and 1/2 inch 2-Speed Hammer Drills with model number HD 21-2) sold at home improvement, hardware and major retailers nationwide and various distributors from September 2009 through August 2010 for between about $140 and $220, reportedly because the recalled Bosch hammers have a grounding system and trigger switch that could cause ground wire abrasion and/or ground connector failure posing a shock hazard and the switch trigger could become stuck in the “on” position posing an injury hazard to the user, according to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) tool and equipment recall news report.

Consumers are reportedly being asked to stop using the recalled Bosch hammer drill and return the recalled Bosch hammer drills to Robert Bosch Tool Corporation for repair.
