DPI Specialty Foods Recalls  Mauri Gorgonzola Cheese Sold At Costco Stores In Colorado Due To Risk Of E. coli O157:H7 Contamination.

A cheese recall has been issued by DPI Specialty Foods (“DPI Specialty Foods”) recalling Mauri Gorgonzola cheese with sell by dates January 13, 2011, and January 14, 2011 distributed by DPI Specialty Foods to Costco stores in Colorado reportedly because the Mauri Gorgonzola cheese may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 which could potentially cause diarrhea and abdominal cramps and in rare cases a type of kidney failure called hemolytic uremic syndrome, according to a Food & Drug Administration FDA food contamination recall news report.

Consumers who have any of the recalled Mauri Gorgonzola cheese are reportedly being asked not to eat it, to return the recalled Mauri Gorgonzola cheese the place of purchase or dispose of it in a closed plastic bag and place it in a sealed trash can to prevent people or animals, including wild animals, from eating the recalled cheese.
